Here’s some more independent music from a young lady I started following a just a few years ago, along with the indie music collective she’s part of, The Clergy. Hailing from the DMV area of the country, Lena Chanel may be small on size, but is immense on talent! Check out some of her latest music on her SoundCloud page below. Gotta love the high quality album art courtesy of Clergy all-around go-to guy Jon Bap, as well! The latest singles are called “Weather” and “Waitin”.
Just last year I had the chance to connect with a group of young, immensely talented, diverse and ambitious group of artists, musicians, producers, singers, songwriters and emcees all hungry to make a big mark on the current D.I.Y. music environment. They’re known as The Clergy and include artists Deno Green, Eboneé A.D, Oobrgk, Dre Dollars, Lena Chanel, The SEVENth, Jessica Renee and Jon Bap. This set of music contains some seriously eclectic and adventurous sounds that could very well be featured in a publication like, say, FADER magazine. Each artist has put their all into each of these songs, and more ears definitely need to hear what they’re saying. Take a listen online and be sure to support these up-and-coming artists.
